Independent / Educational / Task-first

Our guide remit

Help supervisors and new starters ask better equipment questions without pretending a website can assess their factory.

The job comes before the item

Brick Meadow Bnch is an independent information site about factory safety equipment. We organise explanations around exposure: what can strike someone, what reaches their hearing or breathing zone, and what their hands, feet or body may contact.

That structure matters because the same product can be useful for one task and unsuitable for another. We separate elimination, engineering controls and safe work arrangements from PPE rather than presenting protective products as a complete solution.

We do not sell equipment, issue certificates, approve workplaces or act as an inspection body. No professional accreditation is claimed.

How to read a guide

Begin with the task description. Compare the exposure routes with your own process, then use the compatibility and pre-use prompts to prepare questions for the responsible person.

Do not turn a general example into a work instruction. Cleaning, maintenance and abnormal conditions may require different controls.

How we use references

Guides link to official bodies including OSHA, NIOSH, HSE and ISO. United States and United Kingdom references are labelled rather than blended into a single set of rules.

Standards and regulations change. Check the current edition, local adoption and exact equipment documentation with a competent person.

What we cannot determine

We cannot measure exposure, inspect guarding, test fit, evaluate an atmosphere or decide whether a product suits a person and task.

Photographs provide workplace context. They are not proof of compliance or instructions for operating the machinery shown.

Corrections and boundaries

If a statement appears inaccurate, identify the page, the passage and an official supporting source. Use the local briefing composer to organise the information before choosing whether to email it.

We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or speaking for the standards bodies, regulators or manufacturers referenced on this site. External references are supplied for further reading, not as endorsements of our pages.

For an immediate workplace concern: use your site’s reporting, stop-work and emergency arrangements. This website and its contact address are not monitored emergency services.
